Dococr Terms of Use
1. Agreement to these Terms
These Terms govern your access to and use of Dococr's websites, applications, and related services. By using the service or creating an account, you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
2. Document text extraction
Dococr is an optical character recognition (OCR) service. It accepts supported documents and images, identifies visible characters, and returns extracted text for your review and use.
The service only extracts text from material you submit. It does not author or create new material on your behalf. Supported file types, size limits, processing limits, and features may change.
3. Eligibility and accounts
- You must be legally able to enter into these Terms. If you use the service for an organization, you confirm that you may bind it.
- Provide accurate account information, protect your credentials, and report unauthorized access to [email protected].
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account.
4. Your documents and permissions
You retain your rights in documents you submit and the text extracted from them. You grant Dococr only the limited permission needed to receive, process, transmit, store when necessary, and return that material to operate and secure the service.
- You must own the document or have every permission required to upload and process it.
- Do not submit documents when doing so would breach confidentiality, privacy, intellectual-property, employment, contractual, or other legal duties.
- You are responsible for deciding whether online processing is appropriate for confidential, regulated, or sensitive records.
5. Accuracy of extracted text
OCR results may contain missing or incorrect characters, words, tables, reading order, formatting, or language detection. Scan quality, handwriting, layout, fonts, and image resolution can affect accuracy.
Review extracted text against the source document before relying on it, especially for legal, medical, financial, safety, compliance, or other important purposes. The service is not a substitute for professional review.
6. Acceptable use
- Do not violate law or another person's rights.
- Do not upload malware, corrupted files, or material intended to disrupt or compromise the service.
- Do not bypass access controls, rate limits, security measures, or payment requirements.
- Do not probe, scrape, reverse engineer, resell, or overload the service except where law expressly permits it.
- Do not use extracted text to facilitate fraud, impersonation, harassment, discrimination, or other unlawful conduct.
7. Paid services
If you purchase a plan or processing credits, the price, included usage, renewal terms, taxes, and cancellation options shown at checkout apply. Unless required by law or stated otherwise at checkout, charges for completed processing are non-refundable.
8. Privacy, providers, and intellectual property
The Privacy Policy explains how we handle account information, submitted documents, extracted text, and technical data. Contracted providers may support hosting, document processing, authentication, payments, support, and security, with access limited to those services.
The service software, interface, branding, documentation, and related technology belong to Dococr or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of those materials to you.
9. Suspension, disclaimers, and liability
We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to address a Terms violation, security risk, unpaid balance, legal requirement, or material risk to the service or others.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service and extracted text are provided “as is” and “as available.” Dococr disclaims implied warranties and will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or loss of data, revenue, profits, or opportunity. Aggregate liability will not exceed the amount you paid during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Disputes, changes, and contact
Governing law and forum rules depend on your location and mandatory consumer protections. Before filing a formal claim, contact [email protected] so both sides can try to resolve it informally.
We may update the service or these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide notice as required by law. Questions may be sent to [email protected]; legal notices may be sent to [email protected].
